When Penny Alesi quick-deeded the building on 450 Robeson Street, Fayetteville, North Carolina to William Hagler, is was the beginning of a drama that continues today. Penny never wanted it to get so out of hand and tried all she could do to avoid this. When she had gotten back from Mexico in August of2010, she requested her belongings, her Mexican cat, and her credit card debt paid as promised by Jack Idema. She filed charges against him on July 30, 2010, as has been stated & shown before. All of this fallout with the building was utterly ridiculous and never would have happened if Idema & his lawyers, one in specific, weren't so corrupt & blinded by greed. But no, they thought Penny was stupid & they knew she was sick, so they hoped she would either be too afraid or too sick to confront them. Listed are the sworn Affidavits filed November 3,2010, ofLynn E. Thomas & John Edwards Tiffany, regarding the suit over the building in Fayetteville & William Hagler. Tiffany was Idema's lawyer from the Afghanistan days & a long-time associate. Tiffany also has ties to another Idema issue, the death of Rita Gray, which will be addressed in the near future. Tiffany & his cousin lawyer, Vallerie Magory, also headed the team with William London regarding the H. J. Idema Trust.
What Thomas & Tiffany wrote is quite interesting in regards to Penny. Yes, Tiffany knew her. He met her at

the H. John Idema's wake. He also saw her while he was in Mexico during the STAR meetings. He knew her well. He knew her name was being put on everything & wasn't telling her, just like William London. He was also the first to congratulate Penny on the phone, regarding her marriage to Jack. Tiffany had an easy job being Idema's lawyer. Jack would write up the whole case & all Tiffany needed to do was copy everything, sign & submit. His letterhead was everything to Jack. That is how Idema could sue everyone. Penny has documentation of the paperwork being sent to "Kinko's" (all charged to her American Express card) & all prepared so that Tiffany could just pick it up & submit the documents to the courthouse.
Lynn states in her affidavit that she was being stalked. She has pulled this act before & was well versed in pretending like she was the victim. The fact is that Penny was the victim & being harassed, stalked & intimidated. Lynn had already posted slander about Penny on her blog that caused great damage to Penny & her family. Exposing a person's HIV status on the Internet is a hate crime. Pure and simple. Lynn, who is such a dedicated Christian woman who believes in the Bible and everything it stands for, is the biggest hypocrite there is. Here is an excerpt from "The Stupor Patriots" way back in April 2006:
"Well lets see here ... Now here is proof of a conspiracy. Lynn Thomas has admitted here that she has been in contact with Jackbo's lawyers. That through Jackbo's lawyers she posted a partial deposition that was under a Court Order of Protection. That she is and has

this Psychotic and Homicidal Lynn Thomas! She has been receiving threats .............................................................. LOL! Sick
girl Lynn you really need help!"
More from "The Stupor Patriots" dated back in October 2006:
"So Thomas attacks forgetting all about the FACT that Jackbo has had many opportunities to prove his case in court and every time he sued one of the people Thomas continues to wrongly defame he has not just lost in court but ended up being sanctioned and owing the defendants money. Of course Thomas reports on all that? Well of course not! Every time Jackbo has gotten his ass handed to him Thomas rails against the truth and attacks or threatens the person who was wronged. Just like the threat of calling the FBI. LOL! Calling the FBI! LOL! Lynn Thomas is going to call the FBI! Ok, here is the jist of the conversation between Thomas and the FBI."
"Thomas just plainly for what ever demented reason refuses to acknowledge the truth and this includes emails and statements from Jackbo's old Commanding Officer and Green Beret Billy Waugh. But note that Thomas only attacks a selected group of people. You have to ask why? Why not bring to light that Jackbo's old Commanding Officer wrote personally to Thomas and Thomas even refused to answer or post his email. Also note that Thomas has not even mentioned the fact that Billy Waugh slammed the door on Jackbo's private prison. She forgets that 98% of Jackbo's claims have been exposed as BULLSHIT! His military record, how and why he entered Afghanistan, and even the FRAUD Jackbo committed playing US Military covert terrorist hunter killer. But none of this sinks into Thomas lying brain. Yes she is a very sick and demented woman."

DECLARA TION OF JOHN EDWARDS TIFFANY IN SUPPORT OF MOVANTS' REQUEST FOR A TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER

4. I personally knew Movant's father, H. John Idema and know J. Keith Idema. H.
John Idema died in 2008, leaving Mr. 1. Keith Idema as sole stockholder of the corporation.
5. I personally know Ms. Penny Alesi. On October 26, 2010, Ms. Penny Alesi, also
using the false name of "Penni Idema," signed a Non-Warranty Deed. The deed is attached hereto as Exhibit 1- The Deed. This deed is a non-warranty deed. Ms. Alesi does not claim the right to transfer the property, but to the extent that she does have the right, she conveyed it. However, Ms. Alesi had no rights. She was not a corporate officer.
6. Ms. Alesi never claimed to have the right to transfer the property. Also, since
Mr. Hagler prepared the deed, he was either protecting her by titling the deed this way, or she had someone trying to protect her interests by requiring that the deed be prepared this way, presumably in the hopes that she would not be subject to criminal liability.
7. On its face, the property deed, and the transfer of a building valued in excess of
$750,000.00 for $10 (which Ms. Alesi has claimed by phone Hagler never paid her), is a fraudulent conveyance void as a matter of public policy.
8. Reviewing the facts and documents, a) the false name used by Ms. Alesi, b) Ms.
Alesi's fraudulent signing as president of the corporation, c) Ms. Alesi's statements that she was both scared of Mr. Hagler, and was also motivated by a desire to hurt her former boyfriend, d) the purchase price of $10 by Mr. Hagler, who had no relationship to the corporation and who had been previously sued by Mr. Idema for fraud, e) Mr. Hagler's rush to the building to steal the contents, see Exhibit 2- Photographs of Mr. Hagler removing the property of Mr. Idema,

I, Lynn E. Thomas being first duly sworn, deposes and states as follows:
2.I am Lynn Thomas and am over the age of 18.
3.I was hired by J. "Jack" Keith Iderna to clean, organize, and repair a building located at 450 Robeson Street, Fayetteville NC which is owned by a corporation known as Isabeau Dakota, Inc.
3. Several months ago I began the process of organizing the documents and property
located in this building and beginning the repairs. During the course of this effort I extensively photographed the entire contents of the building. The documents in the building generally referred to and made reference to J. Keith Idema. The building also included plaques and memorabilia referencing Mr. Idema. It was very clear that everything in the building was the property of Mr. Idema and his family. Additionally, I am his partner in a business and have an ownership interest in certain business property in the building.
4. On behalf of Isabeau Dakota, Inc. and J. Keith Idema, I hired several men to help
clean and sort the material in the building to prepare the building for rental or sale. I also hired painters, sheet-rockers, and laborers to work for us.
5. I am familiar with William John Hagler. I possess copies of pawn slips showing
that Mr. Hagler stole and pawned the jewelry of Mr. Idema's dead mother. For the last several months, I have been stalked by Mr. Hagler. I hired a security guard to watch the building because we were all so scared of Mr. Hagler. Hagler has been stalking me and threatening me, and harassing me for months, I have repeatedly gone to the Magistrate's office to discuss this because I have been in fear of my life.

6. Two weeks ago, the security system at the hotel I was staying at was breached.
Mr. Hagler had illegally accessed the computer room (which is only for guests with keys) and had left me a personal message- he had left his Facebook page up on the computer I used. I was in dire fear. I told two different magistrates this, but they said it was a civil matter. I said I was scared and believed that he might hurt me. They refused to help me.
7. On October 30, 2010 I heard from Mr. Idema that Mr. Hagler had a deed to the
propeny at 450 Robeson Street which was signed by Ms. Alesi purportedly on behalf of Isabeau Dakota, Inc. Mr. Hagler apparently recorded this deed. Mr. Idema instructed me to watch out for Mr. Hagler. We have had a security guard staying at the building for the last three weeks because Mr. Hagler had previously broken into the building on numerous occasions. In fact, he had left his calling card on the door inside. Mr. Hagler appeared with a locksmith on October 30,2010 but went away when the locksmith refused to change the locks.
8. On October 31, 2010 Mr. Hagler returned with a different locksmith and Mr.
Hagler had the police with him and the falsified deed to the building with him. The security guard who was living at the building refused to allow him entrance to the building. The security guard gave the police my phone number. There were three police. They gave me only 10 minutes and said if I did not get there from my hotel in 10 minutes that they would turn everything over to William Hagler. They said they would give him ALL of Mr. Idema's property, all of my property, all of the business property at the building, and let him take everything. I rushed as fast as I could to the building.
9. Because Mr. Hagler claimed that the fake deed made him the rightful owner the
police forced Thurman Cairnes (the security guard) and I to exit the building. I explained to the police that Mr. Hagler had burglarized the building several times before and we had reported it to the police. Mr. Hagler had a deed and "paperwork," according to the police, that said the building was sold by "Mrs. Penny Alesi-Idema." To my knowledge there is no such person that exists. But I was not allowed by the police to actually see the paperwork. I was threatened with arrest.
10. I told the police that Mr. Hagler was going to take Mr. Idema's property and my
property. I explained that Mr. Hagler was going to loot the property and that this was a burglary in process. The police said they would ask Mr. Hagler to not take anything until it was

settled in court, and then the police said they would "ask" him, butJhey would not stop him /-,
from taking anything.
11. The police threatened to put me in jail and said I could not stop Hagler, they
would not allow me to stop Mr. Hagler, and they said I would get a criminal record and go to jail if I tried to stop Mr. Hagler from stealing our property and Mr. Idema's possessions and Mr. Idema's family's possessions. The police said they were turning the building and everything in it over to Mr. Hagler and my getting arrested would not change anything.
12. The police ordered the security guard to leave the premises. I asked police
officer W. Wright what would happen if Mr. Hagler stole everything that night and everything disappeared. He said there was a way to trace it but that would be my problem. One of our other workers said Hagler's bill of sale was for ten dollars and the female police officer present seemed shocked by that, but the police sergeant named Autry was intent on letting Mr. Hagler take everything and destroy Mr. Idema's entire life and history.
Further affiant sayeth not. The foregoing facts are of my own personal knowledge and I could competently testify to them. I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct.

Greetings to you and the Committee! It is with great pleasure we submit the enclosed
proposal under Fayetteville’s Façade Grant Program.
Three businesses, Isabeau-Dakota Corporation, The Ultimate Pet Resort, and STAR Air,
have teamed together to propose the renovation of the property at 450 Robeson Street.
This property has been an eyesore for the last 7 years and a difficult place to conduct
business. Located on a critical corner and bordering a Fayetteville City Park, the
improvement to this property will greatly enhance this downtown area.
Attached are three $25 checks, one from each business applying. All of the individual
applications, documentation, site plans, maps, and estimates are included the enclosed
comprehensive package.
One question we have for your committee relates to the overall appearance of this
downtown area. In an effort to follow your vision for downtown Fayetteville, we
request guidance on what the Committee thinks about staining the front of the brick or
painting the front, as we are still undecided on that issue?

Three local Fayetteville companies are proposing to partner in a joint renovation project at 450 Robeson
Street. This is an important location because it is highly visible and the surrounding businesses have all
remodeled their areas. While none of the companies can afford to take on the project individually, their 3
projects combined renovate the entire property. The 3 companies, and their individual projects are:
1. Applicant #1- Isabeau-Dakota Corporation (established 1989), the owner of the building.
Overview: Isabeau will take responsibility for roof of building and oversight of project.
2. Applicant #2- The Ultimate Pet Resort (established 1995), a boarding facility for pets.
Overview: The Resort will take responsibility for new signs, doors, painting, and wall repair.
They will also take responsibility for their landscaping and their signs, doors
3. Applicant #3- Star America Air, a July 4, 2008 start-up military air cargo business.
Overview: Star will take responsibility for their landscaping, signs, doors and new edge
flashing around building. (Note: Star had plans to move their offices to
Moore County, but this project will keep a company office in Fayetteville).
The specific repairs and renovations being proposed to improve business on Robeson Street, to bring the
building up to area standards, and to enhance Robeson Street and the City Park on Italy Street, are:

DAVIS BACON ACT
Federally funded construction projects whose contract value is over $2,000 must comply with the
Davis Bacon Act. The Davis Bacon Act mandates minimum hourly payment to all employees
employed on the construction project. Although included in all project specifications, it is important to
keep this requirement in mind when submitting a bid for any project.
During the course of construction, weekly-certified payrolls are to be submitted to the Community
Development Office. This office reviews the payrolls to insure compliance with the Davis Bacon
wages. On-site wage interviews will also be conducted with the employees. Several employees may
be chosen at random during these interviews.

CONTRACTOR/SUB-CONTRACTOR CERTIFICATION
The Community Development office is required to collect and report information on all contractors and
sub-contractors working on federally financed construction projects. In order to collect that
information, contractors and sub-contractors are asked to complete a Contractor Certification or Sub-
Contractor Certification Form. The Contractor form and the Sub-Contractor form will be provided to the
business applicant that has hired you for their project and is also available in the Community
Development Office. You may request copies at 910-433-1596.
Labor Posters
Contractors working on Federally financed construction projects are required to display posters at the
job site. Those posters are as follows:

FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The Façade Improvement Grant Program is intended to encourage business property owners to
reinvest and improve the appearance of their building exteriors. This effort will benefit the City
by removing blight, expanding the tax base, and increasing the economic vitality of the
downtown Fayetteville area and redevelopment plan areas. It is designed to promote
development that is physically, historically, and architecturally compatible with surrounding
buildings in the downtown area identified as the Fayetteville Renaissance Plan area, including
census tract 10, and buildings located within the boundaries of the City’s redevelopment plan
areas. These plan areas include the Massey Hill, Bonnie Doone, Deep Creek Rd., 71st Township
and Old Wilmington Rd. areas. Revitalizing building facades is key to attracting new business
customers.
This program is designed to promote the revitalization of facades of active, ongoing businesses
through the rehabilitation of exterior and landscape. In order to receive a grant, each business
applicant must agree to create at least one full-time equivalent job and make it available to a low
to moderate-income person.
USE OF FUNDS
Funds may be used for, but not limited to, brick cleaning and repair, painting, window and/or
door repair and replacement, landscaping, canopies, awnings, signage, lighting replacement or
repair, and other permanent improvements to the property consistent with the architectural
integrity of the building or space. The City of Fayetteville will provide a 50% matching
reimbursement grant up to $5,000 for each façade renovated.
ELIGIBILITY
The business applicant must be operational for at least six months at the time of application. The
business may include any private entity providing goods and services to the general public as its
primary function. The business entity must be an allowable use in that zoning district. Nonprofit
organizations are not eligible to apply.
The business building structure to be rehabilitated must be located within the 3,000 acres of the
Fayetteville Renaissance Plan area, including census tract 10 or the boundaries of one of the
City’s Redevelopment Plan areas. These plan areas include Massey Hill, Bonnie Doone, Deep
Creek Rd., 71st Township and the Old Wilmington plan area. The applicant must be the owner,
mortgagor, contract purchaser or long-term lessee of the property. If the applicant is not the
owner of the property, written consent from the owner must be submitted with the application.
Each applicant is eligible to reapply for an additional grant after five years since the last grant
was awarded and the property is in need of further improvement. If the applicant received a
façade grant from any other program the City may have offered formerly then the five-year rule
will also apply for this program. The request for additional funds will be reviewed on a case-bycase
basis. All prior years property taxes must be paid. Any work done prior to a grant
application being approved is not eligible for approval. It is mandatory that the applicant’s
project be approved prior to work commencing on the property in order to ensure that all program
requirements can be met.
PROGRAM GUIDELINES
Design
The design of the project should be sympathetic to the original integrity of the building,
compatible with neighboring structures and of a quality that suggests the improvement will last a
reasonable period of time. Since a part of downtown is a Historic District, the Fayetteville
Historic Resources Commission must be included in the design review process for those
properties located in the historic district. All work must be in accordance with the Secretary of
the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings.
Job Creation
Since the program is partially being funded with Community Development Block Grant Funds
(CDBG), a HUD national objective must be met that will provide a benefit to low to moderateincome
persons. Each business that participates with this program must meet a job creation
requirement. Each business must be able to create at least one full time equivalent job and make
it available to a low to moderate-income person. Failure to comply with this program
requirement within one year from the date of the signed grant agreement will require the Grantee
to return the disbursed grant funds to the City. The City will conduct an on-site monitoring visit
for two consecutive years to confirm the job has been created and is maintained.
Davis Bacon
Projects funded in whole or in part with federal funds exceeding $2,000 must comply with the
Davis Bacon Act. The Davis Bacon Act mandates minimum hourly payment to all employees
employed on the construction project. During the course of construction, weekly-certified
payrolls are to be submitted to the Community Development Office. This office reviews the
payrolls to insure compliance with the Davis Bacon wages. Wage interviews will also be
conducted with employees chosen at random on the construction site bi-weekly by the
department’s Davis Bacon Coordinator.
Application/Grant Reimbursement Process
The applicant completes and submits a formal program application to the City of Fayetteville
Community Development Department, along with the following information to further describe
the proposed project:
1. Proof of ownership of property;
2. Owner consent form, if not property owner;
3. A site plan drawn to scale, if applicable;
4. Map of block locating property;
5. Drawings of façade improvements, including samples of proposed materials, colors,
finishes, and details;
6. Clear and identifiable photographs of the existing façade and adjacent building(s);
7. Proposed budget and detailed cost estimates by a professional estimator, contractor,
engineer, architect or design professional qualified to provide estimates;
8. Certificate of appropriateness, if property in historic district;
9. Proof that all prior years property taxes are paid;
10. Job Creation Form;
11. Copy of permit(s);
12. Copy of Contractor/Subcontractor Certification Form(s);
13. Verification of gross revenues for last two years or current year if in business for less
than two years;
14. Verification a DUNS # has been requested if the applicant doesn’t already have one; and
15. Nonrefundable $25 application fee
The City of Fayetteville will verify ownership of the property. In the event that a title search is
required, the applicant will be held responsible for paying the title search fee.
A committee of City representatives from Community Development, Inspections, Finance,
Planning, and Engineering Departments will review each grant request. The Historic Resources
Commission will assist in reviewing those projects that are located within the historic district.
A grant agreement with the City must be signed prior to work commencing. A City Community
Development Department representative will be permitted to inspect/monitor the project to ensure
compliance with the agreement. This will be in addition to the Davis Bacon requirements and
will also include monitoring for the new job that will be created by the business. Since job
creation is a condition and goal of this program, any business that is not able to create a new job
is not eligible to apply.
The City will authorize reimbursement payment after confirmation of project completion in
accordance with the approved plan. This will include compliance with the Davis Bacon
requirements and after receiving the grantee’s DUNS number (if the business didn’t have one at
the time of applying). Prior approval from the City’s Grant Committee must be obtained before
any changes can be made to the approved plan. The applicant must submit a picture of the
façade improvements and detailed cost documentation, including canceled checks and/or paid
receipts once the approved improvements have been completed. The City reserves the right to
request a copy of the original contractor’s final waivers of lien or any additional information, if
needed. A grantee has one year from the date of the approved façade grant to request
reimbursement on the project; exceptions must be approved from the façade grant committee.

While researching and putting this project together, Isabeau-Dakota Corporation, in
conjunction with its two project partners, the Ultimate Pet Resort and Star Aviation, sent out
more than 100 quote requests to companies between Fayetteville and Raleigh, NC. It was
decided that as the building owner, Isabeau-Dakota Corporation would take the lead in
soliciting formal quote requests on behalf of all three businesses. We sent quote requests by
fax, mail, and email.
During this process we requested quotes via fax from:
• More than 40 paving companies
• More than 20 roofing companies
• The two largest national roof material suppliers
• More than 15 landscaping companies
• Three Handyman companies
• Two painting contractors
• And made more than 300 phone calls
In many instances companies did not submit any quote.

Jack Lewis” is a pseudonym. When I first began using the internet I found out that there were a lot of crazy people out there and wanted some anonymity. The name served it's purpose, but eventually people began to know me by that name alone. When I started setting up my own sites, I got JackLewis.net.

My background goes all over the place. I have a Bachelor degree in Broadcasting from John Brown University. I worked for a while in television as studio crew, then as a producer for a television ministry, and years later as a radio announcer at a local Christian station. Broadcasting jobs seemed too scarce so I picked up an Associate degree in Accounting, and another in Business Administration, but by the time I finished that, God called me to Seminary.

I attended South Western Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth for a year and a half, and left to get married. I eventually wound up working as an optician. Because we have two children with a rare congenital disorder, health insurance was hard to come by, so when a job opportunity to work for a national company with excellent insurance came along, I applied, but was turned down. My wife then applied and was accepted. So since then I've been a stay-at-home dad, homeschooling our four kids, and working on various projects on the internet.

In these past few years I've written a novel, and co-wrote the autobiography of a friend who runs an international ministry. I've also developed numerous sites like SpelChek.com, BytheFirePlace.com, phpBible.org, radioJesus.com and LookListenLearn.org. I also built and manage the most active site for the congenital condition my children have, helping hundreds of people world-wide communicate with others dealing with the same problems and worries.

While I abandoned any real effort at anonymity several years ago, I kept the pseudonym, because so many people knew me by that name. My dream is to write novels for a living. This blog is a means to that end. Besides giving me the opportunity to hone my writing skills, as it grows, my hope is to build a “following” of people who like my writing, therefore an initial target audience for whenever I can get published.

The big stress of the past two months is over.

Over the past two months, I've vaguely alluded to there being a big issue I was working on rectifying. In the past few days, I've referred to it obliquely as me dealing with someone harassing me. I didn't want to talk about it until a resolution had been reached. Yesterday, it was.

As You Know, Bob, the Thomases and I broke up in a terrible and extended way in January (Lynne on the 6th, Michael on the 20th). I didn't contact Lynne in any way post-breakup. I tried to reach out to Michael a few times in order to see if his Lynne-prepared breakup script was how he actually felt... because when your barely-former partner who's been gaslighted and emotionally manipulated by his wife for years reads a speech by her and goes silent, when he's always told you that silence means he is spiraling into anxiety/depression/suicidality and needs help, yes, an "are you actually okay? can you tell me in your own words when she's not in the room?" call is a rational thing to do. It is very worthy of note that neither of them ever asked me not to call. When met with silence, I was still very worried, but walked away, knowing that she would not allow me to help him, hoping that someone else would.

On January 28, Lynne had me served with a "stalking no contact" order. In it, she alleges a number of completely false things. (I've elected not to post it and an accompanying point-by-point takedown, but a PDF is available upon request.) It would have just been a bizarre nuisance if not for two things:

* Stalking is a serious crime. It's on the sexual violence spectrum. To accuse a rape survivor of that... and yes, Lynne knows that I was stalked when I lived in Atlanta and that that was traumatic for me, and knows from my post about the rape in Vegas how scary it was that my rapist might have been stalking me before the rape. The Stalking No Contact Order is the wrong order for our situation, even. The correct order for former dating partners is an Order of Protection. She chose the incorrect order in an attempt to trigger me, I'm pretty sure, given that she spent our entire last phone call throwing triggers mined from my private conversations with Michael at me and asking mockingly "are you triggered yet?" I was not triggered, but I was deeply upset. (She also listed my hair color as "bald" and my eyes as "black", and that was, I suppose, just as honest as the rest of her claims. Though she does know that I'm sensitive about the hair loss I experience with dramatic weight loss, and she knows I've lost 10 pounds over the course of her harassment of me.)

* She requested the bog-standard remedies: that I not go to their house, her place of work, et cetera, which is fine because obviously I was never going to do that anyway. Like, your disabled, unemployed ex who can't drive due to her epilepsy is not at high risk of flying to Chicago and taking a $100+ cab just to show up at your door and say boo, even if that was a thing she'd do if you lived in the same city, which it isn't. No e-mail, no phone, all fine; I hadn't been contacting her anyway.

Actually, I'm going to pull that sentence out to highlight it.

The last time I spoke with her was the night of the breakup on January 6. Last time I contacted her? January 2nd.

So if Lynne's actual goal was no contact from me, all she had to do was nothing. She was already getting that. That wasn't her goal. We'll get to her real goal later.

But the important thing in that list of remedies was the last bit. Because it sought to bar me from attending any and all "conventions and conferences sponsored by the science fiction community."

This was not "you have to stay X feet away." This was not "don't attend cons they're at," which would still have been a problem. This was a ban on me attending any con for two years.

And that's why I had to fight. Because that? That is a clear attempt to end or severely curtail my career.

I don't think I have to tell you how professionally valuable cons are to a writer. If I do, hit me up in the comments and I'll lay it all out. Believe it or not, I'm trying for brevity here. Is that order enforceable across state lines? Yes. And cons are Very Aware of harassment these days. So imagine you're on a concom and someone e-mails you this order. Are you going to take time out of your busy schedule to research just in case something's weird? No, you're going to hit the ban button. Which is what you *should* do if there's an actual case of harassment.

So if the order went into effect, that would be two years of restricting me from doing what is, frankly, my job. So. I had to fight it. Lynne chose to punish me in a way that forced a response, weeks after I had already turned my back and closed the door on her. Also? I'm not going to have an order with my name and a crime I did not commit out there. I will gladly fess up to everything I have ever done. But I'm not taking the blame for things I did not do.

The only way to fight it was in person, I discovered to my dismay. And the hearing date was too soon for me to get plane tickets I could even somewhat afford. So I had to hire a lawyer to file for a continuance to give me time to get there - $1,500. (A very kind soul saw the order, realized that this was 100% harassment and persecution and that I would never have done the things I was accused of, and covered the deposit on this. Thank you, friend.)

I got the continuance, and my lawyer said we could try to negotiate an agreement over the next two months so I wouldn't have to come out. I said "Okay. If she drops this, I volunteer to sign an agreement saying I won't contact her in any way, won't go to their house or NIU, and at any conventions we both attend, I will ask programming to not put us on the same panels. I just need the language not allowing me to attend professional engagements dropped." If the goal was really no contact, she should've jumped at that, right? Again, that was clearly not the goal, as events show. She refused the deal, then and when my lawyer offered it again last week.

So the hearing was yesterday. I was up at 2:30am because this harassment has been interfering with my ability to sleep. On the road at 6. Painful flight to Chicago -

Oh yeah. I should highlight this too. Air travel is painful for me, as Lynne well knows from all the times I was immobile on her couch post-flight. And I've been having worse pain lately, which I've talked about a lot here and elsenet. So hold that thought.

And a $150 taxi ride to East Bumblefuck. (They actually live an hour+ away from Chicago.)

And the minute they saw that I had shown up to defend myself, to get on the stand and tell the judge what was actually going on - the minute they knew that Lynne was going to have to present evidence she didn't have and be cross-examined and have to admit to all her falsehoods or risk a perjury charge - her lawyer practically ran for my lawyer, begging to make a deal.

We went back and forth, because what Lynne wanted was to keep the Stalking No Contact Order and for me to agree to stay 50 feet away from her at all conventions. No dice, I said - she's proving herself to be extremely vindictive, and I'd expect her to disrupt panels I'm on by walking in, sitting in the front row, and glaring at me with her phone out to force me to leave the room. My lawyer agreed that that seems in character. She also wanted me to edit LJ posts mentioning them and change how I blog in some way....? I'm not sure how, because my lawyer dismissed that idea out of hand and refused to even bring it back to me for consideration, because free speech. (My lawyer pointed out that for people who say they don't want anything to do with me, they sure were reading my blog a lot. Me: "You have no idea. He reloads it dozens of times a day; she reads it at least three times a day. I haven't read hers at all." My lawyer also pointed out that the only thing in the order that could be bent to fit the definition of stalking was that I called their house twice and left a voicemail, and that only counts if they had asked me not to do so, which they hadn't. "She must have put on a hell of a show to get the judge to grant the emergency order," he said, "but that won't work for the plenary. She needs proof that her lawyer isn't even claiming she has.")

So what did we settle on?

The withdrawal of the frivolous and fallacious request for the Stalking No Contact Order, and the exact agreement I'd proposed in February..

But, since my lawyer is a good lawyer, with additional protections for me and my right to attend conventions.

I have to admit, it was a bit of a letdown; I was looking forward to giving my testimony, and to watching my lawyer cross-examine Lynne and point out all of her lies and distortions and her lack of any evidence. But with my original agreement on the table, I asked myself a question: What are my goals?

My goals here were to get the harassing order dropped, establish the freedom to pursue my career, and never hear from Lynne again (the agreement for no contact goes both ways). My goals were to shut the door on all of this and go on with my life.

Pushing for the hearing would have given me that plus watching her squirm and maybe even getting contempt of court charges due to the flagrant abuse of the judicial system that she confessed to by admitting that I had, in fact, never stalked her. Which is... mean thrills.

The day before she filed the order, I posted here in my LJ: "We all have our choices to make after this. Mine, as always, is to be kind, even when I'm not getting kindness in return. Could I get into a vicious slapfight? Oh hell yes. But that's not the person I want to be. And that's what's important now: making the choices I need to make to be the person I want to be."

So I looked at who I am, did not allow her vindictiveness and bullying and desire to punish me to create a reflection of herself in me, and signed the agreement I'd proposed in the first place. And walked away.

Why am I posting this? Because I know she's lied to other people, some of whom have been struggling to reconcile the Thomas and Lipkin versions of events. So I wanted you to know - when it came time to speak the truth, I flew out there at great cost to my health and my wallet to do so, and she refused to get on the stand. Let that tell you some things right there.

Now let's get down, as promised, to goals.

I proposed that agreement on February 11, the day after my continuance was granted. If what Lynne actually wanted was no contact, she would have agreed to it then or at any time over the course of the next five weeks.

If Lynne had any grounds for a judgment against me, she would have taken the stand. She did not.

So the true goal here is clear. Lynne's goal was to punish me - either with the order if I didn't show up, or with spending over $2,000 that I couldn't afford to defend myself (see also: bullying via the judicial system by people who have money and know that their victims don't), with the severe pain of air travel and hobbling all around Illinois, with the theft of time and energy and my ability to focus on writing.

Occam's Razor. If all she wanted was to be left alone, she already had that. If she wanted a guarantee that that would continue, all she would have had to do is agree to my proposed agreement. By agreeing to that exact agreement after forcing me out there, she shows that the goal was to force me out there, with all that that implies.

During her diatribe on January 6th, she repeatedly said "I don't know how your breakups usually go." Not like this. Generally very quietly. Generally my exes are some of my best friends. Because you can still care for people even if a relationship isn't working - and even if you can't stand them, you can just say "we're over, don't call me again." And when that person doesn't call you or reach out to you in any way, when they are publicly and visibly closing that door and continuing on their own path, you can let them go. Yanking them back to harass and torture them when they are trying to move on is some deeply fucked-up behavior that really needs to be looked at.

So here's looking at Lynne. I hope that she and Michael look at themselves and their choices. I hope someone close to them pulls them aside and says "my god, STOP. Let her go. Stop pulling her back and throwing punches when she is trying to just go on with her life without you."

There are a lot of choices I could make from here. There are charges I could've filed against her yesterday, and still can. I have grounds for two separate lawsuits.

But what do I want?

I just want her to stop harassing me. I don't want to punish her; I'm not the vindictive one here, and the greatest punishment, anyway, is Being Lynne, having a mind that works this way. I originally wrote an angrier post (pre-hearing), because yes, she deliberately tortured me. But no. I pity her. She is constantly angry (hence the chipper false face), she hates herself and her life, and she clearly has a mind full of spiders. That's a horrible way to live. I couldn't top that if I wanted to, and frankly, I don't want to. I want to write my novel, work on my medical issues, be with my awesome community, and do the other cool things I have planned. All I want is Lynne out of my life so I can move forward.

This agreement should do that. And so I'll answer questions in comments, but I hope to never have to write another LJ post about her, because I hope that she'll abide by the agreement and leave me alone. The door has been closed for months. Stop chopping and put the ax down.

I only have one small detail to add, and it's probably the one area where our POVs differ slightly. While Lynne was definitely the one who took some of those earlier actions (and we both had some early doubt as to whether he was even aware of those actions), it's pretty damned clear to me that Lynne and Michael share responsibility for most of the harassment, and that he's made a conscious choice to be a part of this. As quoted above, "We all have our choices to make after this." He's made his, too.

I feel that her long-term treatment and gaslighting of him ameliorates his actions somewhat, especially given how she cut him off from interaction with his support systems and any non-Lynne-filtered input during this time. Ameliorates, not excuses. I know we disagree regarding the extent to which he's in control of his own actions here, and given the way things went and the lack of contact from here on out, we'll really never know. Either way, it's over, thank goodness.

Yeah, I've been trying to keep a balance between not talking about it because impending legal stuff and because I didn't know what she'd do, plus respecting the fact that we have mutual friends, and being clear that I had a big awful thing going on. Glad I can say it openly now, and that she admitted that she'd requested the order under false pretenses (several kinds thereof), and we can hopefully all move on.

And yeah. This has been eating up my time and energy SO MUCH.

I read all of this. I read most all your posts, have for what - 12 years now? But keep pretty quiet. Here, though, had to speak up and let you know you were not only heard but supported. Of the questions and comments the only one I dont see answered here is about your stories they were due to publish (or did I miss, did they somehow already publish you?)

I hope that this issue does not inhibit or stop you from publishing elsewhere, as I understand from your posts they are significantly known in that field.

They stepped down as editors of Apex in December, and as far as I know and they told my lawyer, they don't have future editorial plans. I did have stories and poetry in Apex while they were there (and before they were there, during Cat Valente's tenure).

I've sold two stories since the breakup, one to Strange Horizons and one I can't disclose yet. :) Still writing. I would hope that they'd accept that this is over and move on, but it's a close-knit world, genre writing; I expect I'd hear if they were trying to blackball me. And I'd hope that this post and what it shows about what actually happened would dissuade any attempts.

I am so sorry. This is completely appalling. Also, what the fuck did she THINK you were going to do? You're someone who took your EX-PARTNER to the police and has been pursuing legal action against him for crimes that are some of the most difficult crimes to prosecute and win. Did she REALLY think you were going to roll over and take her specious excremental legal action and just say, "Oh, okay, I guess I'll end my career because Lynne wants me to."? FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

These are some seriously fucked up people, and I hope you never hear a peep from either of them ever again.

Well, remember that I had just recently gotten on better terms with my writing. If my connection to it was fragile, I could see action like this crushing it utterly. But when my writing came back, it came back BIG. This was the first time in a while that I was willing to really fight for it. Also remember that this is someone who researched my triggers in my so-called private chats with Michael and threw a bunch of them at me over the course of an hour-plus, with bonus "Michael wants you to die." She has a thing for throwing punches and the kicking people when they're down.

I haven't thrown punches back, but I'll damn well block.

Also she knew I couldn't afford to fight it. So. Thank goodness for good friends.

I've read this twice now and have the same conclusions. So...

1. If Lynne had truly studied your blog, like, for years, then she'd know how you deal with break ups -- quietly and in private like a grown up, barring provocation. She fails at adequate studying and stalking.

2. From the outside looking in. I find how Lynne's brain functions to be fascinating. Like I kinda wish she was a rat we could put in a cage and study with lights and buzzers. I like your spider analogy because seriously, how does that brain even work?

All told, I'm glad this chapter in the book of your life is done. Onward to better things :)

1. See, she googled the drama and found my life and breakups in 2003/4. When I was struggling to acclimate to brain-breaky epilepsy meds. Totally failed to understand that, ten years later, I am a very different person. These days people find out I had a breakup when they notice I haven't been at parties with/mentioning X as much and I say "Oh yeah, we broke up like six months ago, we're still good friends." (My most recent pre-Judah ex, Mark, was my ride to the last party I went to.)

The man you wanted to never hear about again is back in the news…In Mexico. He is the late Jack Idema who died in 2012, the infamous “Rambo” of southern Mexico and American traitor, whose lasting claim to infamy south of the border is being “Patient Zero” in the massive AIDS epidemic that is sweeping that part of the country. The Mexicans in this region are said to be very upset because Idema was an illegal alien in their country, who was hiding from justice in the United States for his many war crimes and treason in Afghanistan. Hence, this particular outbreak of a terrible disease caused by Idema in drug fueled homosexual orgies where locals were raped in his "Casa Arabi" residence was totally unnecessary. It appears Mexico is having problems with open borders, where criminals on the run hide out and cause the host country massive problems, as happens in the United States with Mexican criminals on the run from their law enforcement. The quality of the DVD was terrible, but from these surviving scenes you can see a pathetic attempt by a raving psychopath and traitor to rewrite the history of the ongoing war in Afghanistan with Jack Idema as the "Rambo" - the one man army - who would have saved the day had he not been "betrayed" by the USA and Afghanistan governments for running a private prison and torture chamber in downtown Kabul.

There is a controversy on when Idema was infected with HIV, but a reliable source who did time with Idema at FCI Butner, NC in the medical unit [Maryland} said that he was diagnosed with HIV type I in late 1994 while he was imprisoned there. [It is thought Idema was infected with HIV Type II in 2004 while in an Afghan prison] This source also states that Idema was known as a "Little Bitch" [The passive partner} in homosexual relations at Butner, as the picture below document. Yes, you will notice that Idema's face is not shown in full; however, last picture in the series shows the same bed with the ancient Egyptian goddess Isis painted on the wall. The first email is from Jack Idema lover, supporter and blogger Lynn Thomas, where she claims Penny Alesi gave Idema AIDS. The second set of emails from a confidential source and not meant to be published are authored by Jack Idema who confesses to Lynn Thomas "Penny is innocent" and he had the dread disease since 1994. This confession from a friend and lover did not stop Lynn Thomas from conducting a campaign of slander against Penny Alesi lasting years on this issue.

Interesting documents here in regards to the late Jack Idema [died 2012]. The documents reveal - among other things - that Idema had a police record going back to 1982, and the state of North Carolina had an active felony warrant out for him. In one of the many unbelievable acts in a life filled with stunts - Idema apparently traveled to Italy on his way to Mexico in 2007 in an attempt to obtain Italian citizenship. This is based on a post card sent from Italy in 2007 to Penny Alesi and his letter written to the Italian ambassador while still in Afghanistan. I wonder how long the Italians laughed at Idema when he showed up in Rome? So there it is folks: have fun reading about the life and times of Jack Idema - the self styled "Super Patriot" who, was, in fact an AIDS infected homosexual, drug addict, criminal and traitor to the United States of America.
